Hariyum Haranum

A Bharatanatyam recital reflecting the many ways bhakti, or devotion, finds expression through dance. Hariyum Haranum brings together pieces centered on the two principal deities of the Hindu tradition—Vishnu (Hari) and Shiva (Haran).

Presented as a one-hour performance, the recital focuses on devotion as experienced and expressed through different lenses. While rooted in bhakti, the pieces also touch on the varied emotional relationships a devotee may hold with the divine—such as longing, love, playfulness, and reverence.
