About the Event

  1. Sollukattu- As the opening dance,they will present a Sollukkattu Pallavi, where rhythmic syllables are structured into a Pallavi and dedicated in the Manirangu raga. Tala: Adi, Choreography: Sri K. H. Kanna
  2. Shringara Lahari – A wave of beauty and devotion, this piece weaves the metaphor of the bee and the flower, exploring the Goddess as both the fragrant bloom that draws devotees and the bee intoxicated by divine music. (Ragam Neelambhari, Adi Talam; Composition: Mysore Lingaraj; Choreography: Smt. Divya Nayar)
  3. Moguduchi pilachedu- The nayika comes looking for Krishna - her childhood friend and lover. She tells him that she was married off to a man when they were really young and that she has to leave the town with her husband. She pleads to take leave of him, and asks him not to forget their love. She says, "How does it matter if you and me are far as the sun and the Lotus?" You shall forever remain in my heart and I shall not loose courage. She then leaves Krishna with a heavy heart. Composition by Sarangapani, Set to dance by Smt Jayanti Subramaniam In ragam - Sahana
  4. Alarulu – Alamelu Manga , the Goddess of Tirupati dances elegantly as flowers are showered upon her. Dancing behind a translucent curtain, twirling to the rhythm, her toe rings and sparkling gem studded anklets produce melodic sounds. Her Sakhis praise her beauty as she wins the heart of Sri Venkateshwara. This composition is set to Ragam Shankarabharanam and Adi Talam. Music by Sri Annamacharya Dance choreography by Shri KH Kanna
